Every second Sunday, King Street in Charleston, SC, is closed off to traffic and open to pedestrians. This year’s first Sunday kicks off on January 9, 2011, from 1 to 5 pm. Expect the usual fanfare of outside dining, vendors, and plenty of walking space as King Street closes to vehicular traffic from Broad north to Calhoun.
Musical ensemble Charleston Virtuosi will play on the steps of the Charleston Library Society from 1 to 4 p.m., led by violinist Peter Kiral. You can also park for free in any City of Charleston parking garage for 2 hours with this voucher.
Have fun strolling!
