The inaugural Receiver Fest showcasing time-based media, which can include performance art, video and experiential installations, whatever may require time for the maturation or completion of the art experience for its viewer, will kick off on March 10 with a lecture by David Bowen at Redux at 5:30 followed by the opening of Bowen’s exhibition drift. Join the artist for complementary beverages and music by New Music Collective.
Performances, video screenings, installations and kinetic sculptures will be scattered all over the city. Check out the website: http://receiverfest.com/ for the schedule March 10th-13th 2011 in downtown Charleston. There will be 20+ artists involved coming from all over the country and a few from Canada. Some artists will be attending the festival.
All venues are located downtown Charleston which makes everything during the festival bike able and walkable!
